While browsing Kickstarter to see what amazing projects were on the cusp of possibility, I came across Jotun. Very much a work-in-progress, the concept, the grain, the seed of the fantastic was undeniably there. In a world where so many shout and trumpet in order to sell themselves, Jotun stands in stark contrast as it is modest and restrained (which I believe it inherits from its creator, Will Dubé). I'm a fan of the slow, methodical thinking game as well as something action packed with whizz-bang effects and explosions. That is part of entertainment, seeing both excitement and those thoughtful moments juxtaposed to give more weight to the other. It is this balance that allows any form entertainment takes to be that much more meaningful, exciting, and substantive.

Maschinen-Mensch, comprised of Riad Djemili and Johannes Kristmann, are working on a wonderfully smart and promising game called Curious Expedition. A rogue-like adventure, expedition, and discovery simulator set in the 19th century, Curious Expedition allows you to... adventure using some of the most prominent figures from science and history.
